W 1805 r. He became a member of the Society of Friends of Sciences. He played a significant role in the Uprising of the Duchy of Warsaw, However, he did not join the government. In the years 1817-1820 He was the president of the Supreme Court in the Kingdom of Poland.
He was an outstanding journalist.
