Juliusz Słowacki
The earliest Słowacki lyrics (The poet lived in the years 1809-1849), from the so -called Warsaw period, They are primarily imitation of the then fashionable English poets. Patriotic poems announced during the November Uprising brought some popularity, np. Hymn, Curlew.
The mature period in Słowacki's work began with the abandonment of the country. The poet felt a longing for the land of childhood, homeland, people closest to him. Loneliness motives, Longing returned in many of his beautiful, touching poems. An example would be written in Switzerland, At Lake Leman, Solution. A similar mood of sadness, We will find loneliness in Rome, a poem representing the type of narrative lyrics, in which Rome's monuments are a starting point for wider reflection on the transience, the fall of cultures, civilization, man's helplessness in the face of passing time. Inspiration to write a series of excellent artistic terms, The poet's journey to the Middle East became extremely elaborate poems.
Słowacki's lyrics had a huge impact on Polish poetry. Such poets owed her a lot, Like Norwid, Konopnicka, Tetmajer, Lechoń, Broniewski, Przyboś, Baczyński, Grochowiak and many others. Young Poland recognized Juliusz Słowacki as her patron, precursor of modernism – For example, a break-Tetmajer wrote on the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the author Kordian:
Poet of bravery and proud dignity,
Poeto of the Highlands of the Spirit and Beauty:
from the purple coat of your glory
Give us a shred one, One little shred,
Everybody will wear their breast in this legion
and I will be your legion knights.
