The poem moves in the circle of basic problems undertaken by the main currents of baroque poetry, Even the entire European art of this period. Raises a number of basic questions about the nature of the world: what is the oldest in it, the most beautiful, greatest? In the end, the announced question about final matters arises: death and its essence, Important for every mortal.
Many Baroque poets analyzed the issue of death, sometimes you can even talk about death obsession, fascination with it. Death terrifying primarily for one reason: uncertainty of extraterrestrial existence, doubts, is there an eternal reward there, or punishment. It's a fear of that, what place God will determine in the afterlife, Because death itself is something for a Christian in line with nature, should not have a tragic dimension. Potocki sees the issue of death slightly differently than most contemporary poets, her place in the eternal order of the world and the existence of individual human individuals:
The most powerful? Death; because nobody with her.
The most terrible? Death, But not that – second.
The most uncommon? Death, Because people steal.
The most reliable? Death, Because it will probably fall.
The most popular? Death, Because all the torments

Death is the destiny of every person, force, which nothing can be opposed. Will deprive everyone's life, because such – says the poet - there is a natural order of things: man is getting older, They go down to death, is becoming more and more tired of earthly journey through the world, finally it starts with longing (and not fear) expect death, which will end all the torments, will bring relief, composure – It is no accident that she is called sleep sister. It is not known, When physical death comes – her arrival is certain. The latter is not something terrifying, only by closing the earthly stage of human existence. Potocki does not scare with death, does not build her terrifying images. Nevertheless, clearly signals the reason for concern, draws attention (According to religious worldview), that there is also the death of the second – And this one is truly dangerous, The death of the soul, eternal damnation, endless punishment.
The lyrical subject of this poem treats death as something equally obvious, and natural, An essential element of the cycle: birth – life – death. This is how God created and sorted out the world, He does not intend to withdraw from this order, And a man, obviously, He can't change it. So he is only left to reconcile with this rhythm. The world is beautiful, provides a lyrical subject, God is eternal, He watches over the world, valuing the beauty of earthly reality, Do not be afraid of death in a physical sense, because man is born for it, to die, which ultimately means a change in the very nature of living – from Corporal to Spiritual. Do not live in the shadow of death, Life is too beautiful, to transform them into only waiting for its final end.
The world of art, Baroque literature was saturated with paradoxes, contradictions, which the authors combined. It is no different in this thirteen -voice poem (equally elaborate, what written in a simple language, easily understandable) continuous, where death is e.g.. at the same time the most unreasonable and surest.
