There are many reasons for the reluctant acceptance of Norwid's contemporary writing. This is the most important of them, that this creativity went far beyond the artistic trends that were dominant at that time, Ways to express feelings and vision of the world. Norwid belonged to the so -called second generation of romantics. He was undoubtedly a continuator of the romantic lyric model, but at the same time he has already announced the appearance of a new current – positivism, He has also become a precursor of innovative concepts of the poetic language.
