Maria Dąbrowska – She was born 6 X 1899 r. in Russów near Kalisz in a decayed landed family. Her father, Józef Szumski, He took part in the January Uprising (1863 r.). She received numerous awards and literary awards: State Literary Award (1934, 1955), Honorary doctorate of the University of Warsaw (1957). Died 19 V 1965.
