W 1766 r. He received the Warmian bishopric, and with him the dignity of the senator princely title. He settled in Lidzbark then. After the first partition of Poland, he often went to Berlin, maintaining strict contact with the country. After the third partition, he became the Archbishop of Gniezno and moved to Skierniewice. W 1829 r. His ashes were transported to Poland and laid in the Gniezno cathedral.
