Stanisław Staszic – He was born in 1755 r. w Pile, died 20 And 1826 r. in Warsaw. He was one of the most outstanding Polish minds of the turn of the 18th and 19th century. He came from a bourgeois family. He was the son of the mayor of Piła. He was educated at the Seminary in Poznań, where at the turn 1778 i 1779 r. he was ordained a priest. He later studied natural sciences in France. W 1781 r. He returned to the country. W 1782 r. obtained a doctorate of both rights and took the French Department at the Zamość Academy. At the beginning of the four -year Sejm, he settled in Warsaw, where he stayed for the rest of his life. However, he had numerous scientific journeys around the country and abroad in his life. He is considered the father of Polish geology. It had a great contribution to the development of mining and metallurgy in Poland. In the years 1808-1826 He was the president of the Society of Friends of Sciences, at the same time (in the years 1807-1812) He was a member of the Educational Chamber. He was co-organized by the University.
In the first period of his literary work he performed as a writer and publicist. Fought for social progress and maintaining national independence. He published works at that time: Notes on the life of Jan Zamoyski (1787) i Caution for Poland (1790).
