The title slogan is very broad and can refer to the safe transport of both people by car, animals and objects. We are primarily concerned with the ways of transporting small children proposed by car designers and manufacturers.. We would also like to deal with solutions, allowing the transport of small objects in relative order, without which it is impossible to do without, and which cause a lot of trouble while driving.
Parents used to talk, that small children are small, and a big big problem. When traveling by car, it is quite the opposite.. Big children are able to take care of the landscape, Reading, Drawing, Fun, listening to recordings. They easily express their immediate needs and communicate with the environment. Young children do not yet have such skills, require constant attention and care from parents. Traveling with children, measures should be taken, guaranteeing maximum safety for them.
At this point it is appropriate to recall, that the Road Traffic Law defines the procedure during the carriage of children by car. They talk about it:
■ article 38 toilet 3: 'The child shall be conducted in a motor vehicle fitted with seat belts in a safety seat or other child transport device complying with the appropriate technical conditions, if, because of the weight or height of the child, it is not possible to use these belts directly.";
■ article 38 toilet 4: 'Provision of the mouth. 3 does not apply to the carriage of a child by passenger taxi, an ambulance or police vehicle.";
■ article 45 toilet 2: 'The driver shall be prohibited from: point 4: 'Carrying in a safety seat a rearward-facing child in the front seat of a motor vehicle fitted with a passenger airbag,"Point 5: 'carriage outside a special safety seat for a child up to the age of 10 years on
the front seat of a motor vehicle.'
So the only one, from the point of view of law, the way of driving with a child or children is to use special seats. Using them is also the only, effective in practice, how to guarantee the safety of children in the car. Because in the first years of a child's life, his proportions and body weight change significantly, it is necessary to properly select and adjust the seat. Most often they are divided by the age or weight of the child, less often by height. Manufacturers have established three age groups: from 0 do 1 year, from 1 do 4 and from 4 do 12 years.
Practical advice:
■ when choosing a car seat, the weight of the child is decisive,
■ the seat should meet European safety standards and Polish approval regulations,
■ before buying a car seat, please check, does it fit our car,
■ after purchase it is worth asking the seller, to demonstrate to us the correct way to install the car seat in the car; manuals can be unclear, nevertheless, the tips contained in them should not be underestimated,
■ always before starting the trip you need to check the seat and child fastenings,
■ do not attach the seat while driving, and only during a standstill it is forbidden to use car seats, who were involved in the accident,
■ you should not buy used car seats from an unreliable source,
■ you have to remember, that if the child travels in a car belonging to a family member or friends, the helpful owner of the vehicle should be entrusted with it together with the seat.
