Cars with engines 1,6 D are generally equipped with batteries of rated capacity 66 Ah. For cars with engines 1,2 i 1,3 the batteries were installed 36 Ah, 44 Ah i 55 Ah.

During a certain period of production, cars with maintenance-free “Freedom”, which do not require adding distilled water during use. Factory batteries can be replaced with commercially available acid batteries 12 V. Some batteries may have a common lid instead of the plugs of individual cells (the so-called. monowczko). In this type of batteries, replenishing the electrolyte consists in pouring distilled water into the trough, instead of up to six goals. The lid closes the cells tightly and should not be opened during operation, and recharging.

The transparent battery casing allows you to check the electrolyte level from the outside. The level should not drop below the mark located under the factory battery cover. On other batteries, the electrolyte level must be between the “MAX” in my”.

Battery replacement
■ By using a key 10 mm, disconnect the ground wire clamp from the battery.
■ Then disconnect the positive terminal clamp
■ Remove the screw that secures the handle to the battery base (socket wrench 13 mm).
■ Lift the battery up and out of the engine compartment without tilting it. Installing the battery is in the reverse order. The ground cable is always connected last.
