Checking and replacing the servo

The task of the servo is to support the force of pressure on the pedal during braking of the vehicle. A servo malfunction does not mean a reduction in braking performance, but the need to increase the force on the brake pedal.

The servo operation is checked by performing the following steps.

Master cylinder repair

■ Remove the master cylinder (see description in the previous section).

■ Remove the screw plugs from the pump.

■ Slide all parts out one by one. If necessary, blow out with compressed air supplied to the rear socket. Put the parts back in the order they were taken out.

■ Disconnect the electric wires from the brake reservoir cover.

■ Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir.

■ Unscrew the brake lines to the pump. Lift the wires, not excessively bending them.
