Checking and adjusting the ignition advance angle – Engine 1.3 – Opel Cadet

Checking and adjusting the ignition advance angle
In the engine 1,3 The setting marks consist of a notch on the crankshaft pulley and an indicator on the oil pump housing The marks overlap occurs 10 before point ZZ.
It is possible to measure the rotational speed at the same time, short circuit angle and ignition advance angle using a diagnoscope connected to the position sensor ZZ, which are two pins located on the crankshaft in the engine block, at the height of the oil filter, there is a brass bushing, which is used to connect the diagnoscope plug. In order to carry out the measurement, you must also connect the diagnoscope's clamp to the ignition cable 1 cylinder and a second clamp to the connector 1

Checking the elements of the ignition system

In order to check the elements of the ignition system, you should have a tester and a magneto and a voltmeter with internal resistance 10 MΩ (the tachometer, if any, must be disconnected from the ignition coil.)

The condition for the proper conduct of the control is the fulfillment of the following requirements:
– the battery must be fully charged,
– the fuel system must be operational.
– the ambient temperature should be in the range of 0…40°C.

Candles must not be screwed in without a gasket or with two gaskets. The tightening torque is 20 Nm. If you do not have a torque wrench. then you must first screw in a clean candle by hand, while still exercising 1/5 trading. Tightening it more may damage the thread in the head, which is a die-cast aluminum.
